Sustainable Practises
Sacred Hill Wines has been involved in Sustainable Winegrowing NZ initiatives for many years, and was one of the country’s first wineries to be successfully audited and accredited.
Our vineyards have been accredited and successfully running under this programme since 2000.
In 2006 Sacred Hill Wines achieved certification as an ISO 9001 producer after a successful audit was conducted by international firm, BVQI. This audit covered all aspects of company grape production, wine production, warehousing, dispatch, customer feedback, Occupational Safety and Health and management systems.
Sacred Hill Wines is also a member of the New Zealand Packaging Accord, a voluntary initiative to cut down on wasteful packaging.
We use cartons made from recycled cardboard and purchase glass made with the maximum percentage of recycled glass content possible whilst maintaining bottle integrity.
We also have recycling collection areas for all glass, paper, aluminium, cardboard and plastics.
